[cups.general] hostname resolution problem

Hi,

I'm using CUPS 1.3.8 with Samba 3.2.5, both on the same server.

In cupsd.conf I've got "HostnameLookups On"

When printing through IPP from a client, the IP address is correctly
resolved by CUPS and changed into an hostname when you retrieve the
job-originating-host-name attribute from the job's ticket.

However when printing goes through Samba (with "printing=cups" and
"printcap=cups" in smb.conf), if you retrieve the
job-originating-host-name attribute from the job's ticket, only the
unresolved IP address is returned.

It seems it's like if CUPS' HostnameLookups directive is only applied to
the IP address of incoming IPP requests (in the case of Samba it's
localhost), but never applied to the job-originating-host-name attribute
in the job's ticket.

Is this the expected behavior, and if so, what is the reason ?

Thanks in advance
