No /etc/cups is not NFS mounted
and the permissions are :_
[root at dekglv1 cups]# cd /
[root at dekglv1 /]# ls -al | grep etc
drwxr-xr-x 109 root root 12288 Aug 20 11:03 etc
[root at dekglv1 /]# cd etc
[root at dekglv1 etc]# ls -alrt | grep cups
drwxr-xr-x 5 root lp 4096 Aug 9 15:08 cups
[root at dekglv1 etc]#
I suspect some changes have been made to secure the system - but what they are I do not know.
On this test machine the permissions are
[root at SBOKI1 /]# ls -alrt | grep etc
drwxr-xr-x 111 root root 12288 Aug 20 04:13 etc
[root at SBOKI1 /]# cd etc
[root at SBOKI1 etc]# ls -alrt | grep cups
drwxr-xr-x 5 root lp 4096 Aug 19 09:58 cups
[root at SBOKI1 etc]#
and the printers.conf is being updated OK
Thats why I am confused.
The gist of it is :-
lpadmin does not update /etc/cups/printers.conf
and I can not see why
