[STR New]
Steps to reproduce:
1) lp testcase1.ps
Expected results:
1) testcase1.ps is printed
Actual results:
1) testcase1.ps is not printed. The "communicating" light of the
printer blinks forever.
More info:
1) I see this behavior with Debian squeeze that has cups 1.4.4-2.
I used the tcpick tool to capture data that was sent over the TCP
connection to the printer. It is attached as port9100_1.4.4-2.dump
2) I do not see this behavior with Debian squeeze when I install cups
1.3.8-1+lenny8 from Debian lenny to it. Network traffic is attached as
port9100_1.3.8-1+lenny8.dump
3) netcat printer 9100 < port9100_1.4.4-2.dump hangs the printer
4) netcat printer 9100 < port9100_1.3.8-1+lenny8.dump prints correctly
5) netcat printer 9100 < testcase1.ps prints correctly.
6) I do not see the problematic behavior if I install the PPD from
http://www.openprinting.org/download/printdriver/debian/dists/lsb3.2/main/binary-amd64/openprinting-ppds-pxlmono-ricoh_20100531-1lsb3.2_all.deb
(it uses pxlmono raster driver)
