Gwenview is probably doing its "own thing" with the PBM before sending
it off to printing. Or even doing its thing when opening the file for
viewing on your display (at the native resolution of your display, which
may be just the 92dpi...)?
Try sending the file from the commandline:
lp -d yourprintername /path/to/net.pbm
And do also look at the options you have for printing images:
