[cups.general] Howto effectively use the PreserveJobFiles directive

/var/spool/cups

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Most apps will generate PS or PDF.

No.

Right. CUPS will also age out files based on the MaxJobs, MaxJobsPerUser, and MaxJobsPerPrinter directives.
