ErrorPolicy=retry-job but not retrying upon out of paper condition

I've an Epson Stylus TX115 (the closer driver I found is the gutenprint one for tx110, and that's what I'm using right now). Even though I have configured an ErrorPolicy=retry-job both in cupsd.conf and printers.conf when the printer runs out of paper the job is aborted with an error similar to "E [20/Feb/2010:11:17:31 -0300] [Job 75] Unable to write 8192 bytes to printer!". Then I have to send a new job filtering out the already printed pages.

Any idea why cups is not correctly dealing with the out-of-paper condition?
