page_log is empty

By the way:

At the printer status page, I see:

"Hp4250	Hp4250		HP LaserJet 4250 Foomatic/Postscript	Idle - "Waiting for job to complete...""

every time a print job gets sent to this printer, and it does not disappear after the print job has been completed. I guess there are no entries in the page_log due to this, right? How can this be solved?
