or add /usr/local/bin to the default path using the SetEnv directive in cupsd.conf:

    SetEnv PATH /usr/lib/cups/filter:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/local/bin

(adjust the first directory accordingly for your system - /usr/lib64 or /usr/libexec may be used...)
