[cups.general] [SOLVED] Should the CUPS Raster output deviceofGhostscript output compressed or uncompressed Raster data?

I have solved the problem now. I have added optional compression to the
CUPS Raster output device of Ghostscript now (in the SVN repository of
Ghostscript, rev 11508, will get into GS 9.00 to be released end of
August). If the line

*cupsRasterVersion: 2

is added to the PPD file, the CUPS Raster output will be compressed
(version 2). Default is uncompressed (version 3) for backward
compatibility. CUPS Raster version 1 is not supported.

The change is implemented completely inside the CUPS Raster output
device code of Ghostscript, so it works both with pstoraster and
PostScript input and with pdftoraster and PDF input.
