I suspect you will hardly get "official" support for that printer under 
10.6.
But perhaps you could post the PPD you used previously and how you 
configured the network access to that printer previously. With that 
information at hand, I could try to give you some hints how to get it 
working on 10.6 (thougu maybe nos using the system's printer setup facility 
but rather fiddling around with CUPS (the spooler system on 10.6) directly.
