The Common Printing Dialog is intended to give full support for CUPS 
custom options. For fax numbers one can use a custom string option, 
where the user can enter arbitrary numbers. Frequently used numbers can 
be even added to the PPD file as pre-defined choices. One can even add a 
widget hint to the PPD file telling to the dialog that the option is a 
fax number and then an implementation of the dialog could even call the 
desktop's address book fo choosing a fax number.
