Network printer not connected?

I'm using Debian 5 with CUPS 1.3.8.
I connect to a printer in the local LAN.
The printer is a HP5100le with JetDirect 170x.
I installed the printer twice with hpijs driver and pcl driver seperately.

I sometimes failed to print anything using any of two drivers.
The error message reads:
Printer 'printer-hpijs' may not be connected.
and
Printer 'printer-pcl' may not be connected.

The tail of /var/log/syslog is:
==================================================

==================================================
The message repeats several times.

This happens sometimes but not always.
Once happened, I cannot print anything from then on.
Anyone could figure out the reason of the error?
How can I fix it out?

Thank you very much!
