hi
yes.. I tried to change the BrowsePoll variable from "30" to "0" ...
and as it is mentioned in the System Administrators Manual:
" The BrowseInterval directive specifies the maximum amount of time
between browsing updates. Specifying a value of 0 seconds disables
outgoing browse updates but allows a server to receive printer
information from other hosts."
BUT... doing a "ps -ef|grep cups"
root 24874 1 10 11:27 ? 00:00:55 /usr/sbin/cupsd
lp 24907 24874 0 11:27 ? 00:00:00 cups-polld 172.xx.xxx.10 631 30 631
lp 24908 24874 0 11:27 ? 00:00:00 cups-polld 172.xx.xxx.11 631 30 631
am if I am not grossly mistaken...
the "30" is the BrowseInterval ... in other words.... my
specification does not take effect!
and yes! I have restarted cups after changing to value
"BrowseInterval 0" ..
ideas ??
