Hello!

I have a similar problem, i had to put 4GB RAM for the server, printing
takes a lot of memory and a lot of time, i have a relatively busy server
(academic institute, services for students), and one such job delays the
queue in a very frustrating way. i would also appreciate if someone can help
out ! the problem is very clear with PDF files, i assumed that converting
from PDF to postscript is problematic because it converts between similar
formats, assumed it converts PDF to something then back to PS which for
somereason is VERY resource intensive !

maybe there is a way to just strip PDF down to PS (afaik the two formats
have a lot in common)

Cheers,

uwe
