[cups.general] Strange characters when printing from OS X to Linux CUPS server

All,

I just upgraded to CUPS 1.4.3 and a few OS X users started complaining 
that some of their documents now have odd characters added to them.  It 
looks like most spaces are being replaced with a "double low-9 quotation 
mark" (or a double comma).  The same document prints fine from a Linux 
client.  Changing the font of the text from Times New Roman to a 
different font on the Mac corrects the problem.

Before I spend too much time debugging this, I thought I'd put the 
question out to the list to see if anyone has seen this problem before 
and can suggest a solution.
