Only getting raw postscript output

Hello,
Please excuse my ignorance; I'm not sure exactly how much detail to include here.

I have a Brother HL-2270DW which I'm trying to print to over the network.  I've followed instructions to install Brother's software (cupswrapper and a driver).  The setup worked at one point; now when I print to the machine what comes out is raw postscript.  So it looks like it's not going through all the filters it needs to go through.

Is there a way to collect the output of each stage of filtering and get more verbose information.  I have "Save debugging information for troubleshooting" check in the Administration page of the cups web server, but the error_log just says everything completed normally.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
