Well, there seems to be a bug somewhere. It may due to the way the page 
content is output by Ghostscript's pswrite device.

Finding out the details of this bug seems not to be trivial, so be patient.

BTW, which version of Ghostscript do you use (I tested pdf2ps from gs 8.64 
and gs 9.01)?
