IPP request and PPD file

Ok, so as long as the document format isn't "application/vnd.cups-raw" it will apply the PPD, so if I just take the Adobe Postscript Driver, and point it to the IPP printer, as long as the document format is correct, the PPD would still do it's transformation magic. Correct?
