Cancelling print jobs via AppSocket (and an HP support grumble)

You can safely skip the next paragraph if you don't care about my rant about HP support.

I spent a few hours, today, trying to get an answer to a simple question out of HP support. After being bounced around their support site, getting referred to useless self-help and FAQ resources, finding out how to email them, getting an answer from email support, a couple of hours later, full of useless platitudes, saying that I'd have to call phone support, being given the number for home printer support for a question about a business class printer, having the support operator (and I never understood a word she said) fail to realize that I was in the wrong support queue, and then talking to a tech who explained to me that I was in the wrong queue, who then transferred me to the proper queue, where there was a level 1 guy who thought that IPP was a competitor to TCP/IP, I finally got to have a conversation with Level 2 support, not directly, but with this clueless guy relaying the questions and answers, I finally determined that the HP P2055dn does not support IPP.

OK. So I also asked if AppSocket supported remote cancellation of jobs. But I figure it's worth asking here, because I'm not sure whether to trust the "no" answer that I got. I think it's probably right, since AppSocket seems like a very basic protocol. But... does AppSocket support remote cancellation?

So wonderful to have the luxury of asking the question in a forum where the people aren't stupid, without giving all my personal information and telephone number to each person I talk to, even if they may or not be paid for answering. ;-)

Thanks,
Steve Bergman
