Large/extra Form Feed on Epson LQ-2090 Debian Squeeze

Hello

I just replaced an ancient etch installation with a Debian Squeeze installation and I having a line feed issue with the Epson LQ-2090 printer.  Squeeze is using CUPS version 1.4.4-7+squeeze1 (the version in etch was ).  I started with the ppd file from here:

The printer is using FanFold paper which is 290 mm wide and 203 mm high.  So I added a corresponding page format with sizes 825 and 577 points.  (I also corrected the titles of some PageRegion entries which seem to have been subject copy&paste errors).

I ended up with the attached ppd file.

The problem I have is that even if i print a file like:

Page 1
^L
Page 2
^L

the form feed causes the printer to feed an extra page after each ^L (The same is true if I print via PDF files).  I'm not sure whether a default filter is adding extra form feeds or whether there is some issue in defining the page size or defining the fact that it's fanfold.

This issue didn't occur in etch.

I have no real experience in debugging cups/ppd files.  So I'd really appreciate helpful pointers.
