HWMargins ignored

Hello,

I'm using CUPS 1.4.4 in Ubuntu 10.10.
Printer Xerox DocuPrint P8ex
Driver Xerox DocuPrint P8e Foomatic/hpijs-pcl5e (recommended)

The problem is, that HW margins are too small - I often do not see first/last 1-2 character on line.

In PPD I have found line :

*HWMargins: 18 14.40 18 +14.40

I have change it to:

*%HWMargins: 18 14.40 18 +14.40
*HWMargins: 3.0cm 3.2cm 3.0cm 3.2cm

and

service cups restart

But the changes are Ignored - tho output is the same (and bad).

(When I print something in e.g. evince (ctrl+p) - the settings are correct - specially:
* change the page size: reduce to the printable area
(google translation))

What do I wrong ?
Please help.
