difficulties with remote printer

I tried "Not listed" in the Choose Printer section.
As you can see it didn't find the printer.
BTW, I turned off the firewall on both computers. I'll turn it back on only after things begin to work. So we now know that there are no firewall problems.

If I check "Show printers shared by other systems" the printer will show up and I can print with it. Then I can also samba share it through the laptop connection. For some strange reason the samba isn't showing the printer on ilan-main. On the other hand, samba definitely IS showing some folders I have shared on ilan-main. Just the printer doesn't want to come through on samba, but it will come through if I use "Show printers....".

This is all very strange and I can't find a logical explanation for it.
Any suggestions????
