[cups.general] config options confusion

Hi.

I've got several cups servers running on network attached linux servers.
I'd like to put something to rest that has been bugging me for years...

Not certain even how to ask this question.

I want users to have 1 printer installed and
have the ability to choose stuff like color, stapling, landscape,
legal...etc.

When I web into port 631 via a browser and set "legal" in "printer
options" for example everyone that prints gets legal output regar.

If I set the option to letter then in Windows(XP) choose legal it prints
letter.

My current workaround -and maybe that's what everyone else is doing to,
I don't know- is to install printers with printer-letter, printer-legal,
printer-color...etc. Basically one for each type of printing. But I've
always felt there must be a better way.

I don't know if this sprouts from using the web interface so I just want
to mention that I'm not adverse to using the CLI if that's what is
preferred/recommended.
