Creating a prn file from CUPS

Hi there,
I've been having problems getting a printer to work from Linux. It works from Windows, so I did a "print to file" to get the .prn and see exactly what it was sending. When I view the .prn, it has things like this before the actual document:
@PJL SET EDGETOEDGE=OFF
@PJL SET ACCOUNTNUMBER="12345"
etc
Now I'd like to see what the Linux machine is sending in the same way, so I can see how they differ. Can anyone tell me how to get the same kind of file from CUPS?
Thanks for any help!
