FYI an addendum:

The PPD which is actually used for a print queue is
/etc/cups/ppd/<queue_name>.ppd

This could be different (in particular reagrding the default
settings in the PPD) to the PPD which was used when the queue
was set up in something like /usr/share/cups/model/...
