Printer complains about size mismatch.

I have a Ricoh  that complains about a page size mismatch.  I'd like to have the ability to change the paper size in the tray with out touching the software. CUPS sends 8.5x11 by default and if I don't override that the printer sits and spins until the "user" manually overrides on the printer it self.

It's a Ricoh Aficio MP C7500 PXL. Not sure if this is a printer or cups issue. I have yet to test with a bigger HP printer with more then one paper size.
