cancelled print requests stays in the lpstat

Running cups1.4.6.
A print request was printing.  Issued a cancel command:
cancel printrequestname
After printing a few more pages, it did stop but stayed in the queue of jobs showin in the lpstat -t.

smallroom-101           root            300032   Fri 28 Jan 2011 10:22:17 AM CST

If try to cancel again, get this:

cancel: cancel-job failed: Job #101 is already canceled - can't cancel.

How can I get this out of the queue?
