I've found some rather odd behavior on a 1.4.7 upgrade from both 1.3.7 and 1.4.6 -> 1.4.7 (RHEL 5.3) After the upgrade, the c* files were still in /var/spool/cups for queued up jobs but the d* files disappeared. When I un-paused the queue all of the jobs purged with the "No Data File" message in the error_log file. Anyone have any explinations?
