How can I configure a Brother MFC-8420?

That worked for the last three months. It broke suddenly this morning.
Following these instructions no longer works. Likely, somebody 'improved'
things with some security update. As a follow up to this posting, someone
asked, "what happens when you type 'lpinfo -l -v'?", but I didn't see it
until today:
