It did not produce any difference. I think the log level has already
been "debug" anyway. If it is really hard to figure out an issue like
this, I would propose to improve the error management system. However
I still hope I am doing something wrong. It is no way it is that hard
to get any feedback of the operations run.

ldd /usr/lib/cups/backend/lpd
	libcups.so.2 => /usr/lib/libcups.so.2 (0x3aae5000)
	libssl.so.0.9.8 => /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8 (0x3ab36000)
	libcrypto.so.0.9.8 => /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8 (0x3ab7f000)
	libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x3acd5000)
	libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x3acf5000)
	libcrypt.so.1 => /lib/libcrypt.so.1 (0x3ad6c000)
	libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x3ada9000)
	libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x3adbc000)
	/lib/ld-linux.so.3 (0x3aaab000)
	libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0x3af08000)
	libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x3af2c000)

I do not see any issue.

Best Regards,
