[cups.bugs] [HIGH] STR #3864: Transparent images in a PDF document prints out as black

I am sending a raw PDF document(with some transparent images) to a cups
printer for printing. The PDF prints fine on windows, but if I try to
print it from linux using evince/lpr, the image prints with a black
background.

PDF document looks good in evince. But when I try to print it just prints
with black backgrounds.

Is there any specific filter option that I need to set in a print job?
