plus the printer driver software which provides the
actual printer driver program (a HP LaserJet 1015 is only
a PCL printer but no PostScript printer) which will be
launched by foomatic-rip (often this is Ghostscript
but it could be also Gutenprint or HPLIP).

If you use Linux:

You may try one of the generic PCL5e Ghostscript drivers
(e.g. ljet4 or lj4dith) if you have Ghostscript installed
(which is usually installed by default by the usual Linux
distributions).

Or try the Gutenprint driver which is usually included
by the usual Linux distributions.

Or try HP's own HPLIP printer driver software, see
http://hplipopensource.com/

Depending on the Linux distribution which you use, HPLIP
is usually included and usually installed by default, see
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/downloads.html

For a manual setup you may run as root
# lpinfo -m | grep -i hp | grep -i laserjet | grep 1015
to get a list of the currently installed PPDs which could
match to a HP LaserJet 1015.

Then you may have a look at
"How to set up a print queue in full compliance with CUPS" in
