Printer spool and missing print

Hi,

I'm setting up a fax server that prints all incoming pages to a Epson 
AcuLaser M4000N via cups class.
All works well but i want to be sure that every fax is printed and so i 
will monitor printer queue with Nagios.
In my test i found that if something happen to the printer while is 
printing a job that job is lost and the next one stays on queue until 
the printer problem is solved.

There is a way to make cups job removed only when the print is finished?

I tried with many other printers (Infotec/Ricoh, various Epson) and the 
result is the same.
