lp vs ipp print job

Is it fairly safe to say that if job-originating-host-name is localhost, it was an lp spawned job vs an ipp spawned job?  In testing that seems to be the case as when i spawn an ipp job back to myself i always seem to get an ip addy vs an lp command always seems to give me localhost.  I need to do some custom filter programming and need to flex differently based on if it was an IPP or an lp print request.
