[cups.bugs] [LOW] STR #3945: No dependency on gnu freefont

Please drop (endorsing) the dependency on gnu freefont. This might not be
in the source code but does exist in the Debian, Ubuntu, etc. packages of
the CUPS software.

Most normal users have gnu freefont installed one way or the other but
some users would like to deinstall this and use a version shipped in
another way, e.g. via TeX Live. CUPS is one of the packages that has a
strict dependency on this package. Also the question arises if CUPS really
needs these fonts in order to operate properly.

When CUPS will be advising to drop this dependency by the packages
maintainers, will this help to solve the following bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ttf-freefont/+bug/667242 If you
could please post this advise in that bug report and in the release notes
of the next version of CUPS, that would be great.

Doing this will provide users with more freedom and ease of use in
installing software on their systems. This might seem trivial but it will
help many users.
