ANNOUNCEMENT: filters to convert office documents to postscript or PDF

you'll find the filters,
officetops
libreofficetops / libreofficetopdf .

These filters provide converting both OpenOffice documents as well as
Microsoft Office documents (to a certain extent) to PostScript and PDF,
respectively, using OpenOffice.org or LibreOffice in headless mode
(i. e. without displaying any windows and without any user interaction).

Thus office documents can be printed directly.
