Hello,
I'm using Debian 4.0 with kernel 2.6.18 and CUPS 1.2.7 and want to print
to a Samsung ML-3471ND via IPP and Postscript. I used the PPD supplied on
the support CD and the setup went straight-forward. The test page prints
well.
However, almost all client jobs stall.
The user guide states that there is a problem with CUPS v1.1.21 and
recommends either to upgrade v1.1.22+ (which matches our CUPS) or use
the LPD/LPR protocol to print. For testing purpose I have created a LPR
queue as well and moved all stalled jobs from the IPP-queue there. All
jobs do print! Hence, I suppose that there is no problem with the jobs
themselves.
Below you find my CUPS config, a snippet of the logs and the output of
"./ipptool-static -t -I -v ipp://10.20.10.212/ ipp-1.1.test" compiled on
the same machine from CUPS v1.5.0 sources.
The segfault at the end of ipptool does not give me hope, that I get IPP
to work with CUPS v1.5.0 either. There is no firmware upgrade on the
Samsung support pages.
Is it normal, that both the log and ipptool does not list postscript as
supported document format?
