[cups.general] print to fax with CUPS ?

I run Mageia 1 Linux, with CUPS 1.4.6

I have been looking into adding a "Print to fax" entry in my printing system, 
using fax and efax.

The man page for efax tells me how to create the virtual printer by adding a 
line in /etc/printcap.

But the first lines in printcap read:
        # This file was automatically generated by cupsd(8) from the
        # /etc/cups/printers.conf file.  All changes to this file
        # will be lost.

How do I get around this, and configure the virtual printer in CUPS ? ?
