internal server error

I tried installing CUPS 1.6.1 but that failed so I reinstalled the Mandriva package for 1.4.8, but now cannot connect to the server. When I do a service -f cups, the server restarts. But if I try to connect a new printer it fails and I get an "internal-server-error"
In cupsd.conf  Access is set to Allow @LOCAL, and Listen *:631
