[cups.general] "Unable to add document to print job."

I haven't been able to print on my Samsung CLP-325W recently
from my Fedora-17/KDE laptop (32-bit), using the foo2qpdl driver.

This printer is attached to a Linksys router on a local LAN.
The printer is working fine, since I can print from Windows XP
on the same laptop.

I get the error message

E [05/Sep/2012:16:14:10 +0100] [Job 35] Unable to add document to print job
----------------------------
in /var/log/cups/error_log .

I've seen many postings referring to this error,
but I haven't seen any suggestion of what might be done about it.

Any advice or suggestions gratefully received.
