add author information to each page header

Look at the page-label option.

If that doesn't match your needs, drop me an e-mail to get a modified pstops 
filter (c source code based on cups 1.3.x) which provides - among other 
features - an extended page-label handling in that you may specify a 
PostScript file which renders nearly anything you want onto the pages, even 
things like the job-originating-user-name etc.
