[cups] Print to File Using CUPS

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have read the "CUPS" book by Michael Sweet and I understand how to write filters and 
backends.

My question is: How do I assemble the various pieces (filter, PPD and backend) into a 
"printer" that I can install using the CUPS web interface or command line?

I have my backend installed into /user/libexec/cups/backend (Mac OSX).  How do I tell CUPS 
to use my backend?
