Hi Michael,

dnssd is not running on my PC, no.

When I run

"/usr/lib/cups/backend/dnssd"

the output is:

*DEBUG: Found "Brother MFC-7460DN._ipp._tcplocal"...
DEBUG: Found "Brother MFC-7460DN._pdl-datastream._tcplocal"...
DEBUG: Found "Brother MFC-7460DN._printer._tcplocal"...
network dnssd://Brother%20MFC-7460DN._pdl-datastream._tcp.local/
"Brother MFC-7460DN" "Brother MFC-7460DN" "MFG:Brother;MDL:MFC-7460DN;" ""
network dnssd://Brother%20MFC-7460DN._printer._tcp.local/ "Brother
MFC-7460DN" "Brother MFC-7460DN" "MFG:Brother;MDL:MFC-7460DN;" ""
network dnssd://Brother%20MFC-7460DN._ipp._tcp.local/ "Brother
MFC-7460DN" "Brother MFC-7460DN" "MFG:Brother;MDL:MFC-7460DN;" ""*

BTW, I tried installing the drivers and the install program on my laptop
and I am able to print from there. That gives me hope :)

Jim
