[cups] Cups / CentOS-6

Hi,

I have two hosts; they have essentially the exact same OS (CentOS-6.6)
and are connected at a switch (which in-turn connects to a router). Both
access a Samsung M3870 printer/scanner which is also connected at that
same switch. Both hosts use cups v 1.4.2 and access the printer using
IPP (with static addresses, no dhcp in the middle).

I can ping the other host and the printer from either host machine and
can access the Samsung gui set up from either host. If I set both hosts
cups to share, then I can:
- print a test image from host A using the shared cups from host B, but
I cannot print a test image from host A using it's own cups
- print a test image from host B using it's own cups, but I cannot print
a test image from host B using the shared cups from host A.

If I disable sharing, I can print the test image on host B using its own
cups, and cannot print a test image on host A (using its own cups).
In short, the cups from host A does not work.

When I attempt to print the test image from host A, it stops, leaving
the job uncompleted in the queue. I get the following error message:
/"/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertospl failed"/

/What I suspect is relevant from the error log is:/

E [02/Oct/2015:09:39:51 -0500] [Job 16] Empty print file!/
... a bunch of stuff .../
D [02/Oct/2015:09:39:51 -0500] [Job 16] Backend returned status 1 (failed)//

printer-state-message="Processing page 1..."
D [02/Oct/2015:09:39:51 -0500] [Job 16] printer-state-reasons=paused

/I have severely tortured the permissions of rastertospl in attempts to
resolve the problem; I have updated and then "back-down"//-//dated the
Samsung drivers and firmware; all to no avail./

/Can anyone help? It would be greatly appreciated./

/Thanks!/

/Joe Henley/
