Not exactly. It, as I said in newer e-mail, looks like regression. All the 
same filters (wil it be things from guttenprint or hplip or whatever) works 
fine with CUPS 1.5, but stops to work on versions since 1.6.

Not that I'm familiar with CUPS internals, but can't it just be a some kind of 
changed API that drivers developers are missed?

We (at least, I) just want to say: "Hey! That worked flawlessly in 1.5, but 
stopped in 1.6. Windows machines still working fine, while we still can't get 
ANY printer to work like before (and like windows machines). Please, help us 
to find a problem root and make a proper bug report!"
