I tried to use the key word search box and received no results when using common words relating to printing, such as ink!
In addition, why are we given the opportunity to login when it appears that there are no advantages?

Andrew,

The posts are not associated with usernames, but with email addresses.  Since the email addresses are generally obscured by Mailman, you probably will not be able to search for it.

(internally we use the "swish-e" software to index and search the mail archives - you can also restrict Google searches using the "site:www.cups.org" keyword)
