[cups] disappearing /reappearing printer

Greetings;

My /var/log/messages file is being flooded with disconnect/reconnect 
messages from a Brother HL-2140 B&W laser printer.

I restarted cupsd thinking that might help, but nope it just did it 
again, corresponding to my sending it a 7 page job in landscape mode.

This clip shows the last 2 such print jobs. It disappears when the 
job starts, and re-appears about 2 seconds before the last page is 
spit out.

Sometimes its re-identified by udev, sometimes not.

Using brothers drivers, on a 100% up to date debian wheezy install.

Does anyone have a clue?  My clue box seems to be empty.
