I would not want to be too pessimistic, but I fought during 2 days
to install a similar Brother model(HL-L2340) on Debian Stretch, and 
I was obliged to return it to the seller. The Brother "support" was
awful: I told them I had problems on a Linux system, and the only
answer I got was about Microsoft Word...
At last, I bought a HP Lasetjet, It is more expensive, but it took
30 seconds to install it, and it works perfectly.
