Hi All,

I am experiencing problems with printing PDF files containing images which are CCITT or JBIG2 encoded. They print to solid black pages with little artefacts at the bottom of the page. I am using CUPS 2.2.4, Arch Linux 4.11.9-1 and a Canon ImageRunner C1028i and installed the driver from here: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/cndrvcups-lb-bin/. Plain text PDFs and PDFs containing JPEG encoded images print flawlessly.

'cupsfilter --list-filters' on the respective files returns "gziptoany", as it does on every PDF i tested.
'cupsfilter --list-filters -P /usr/share/cups/modelCNCUPSIRC1030ZK.ppd -e' on the respective file lists following filters apart from 'gziptoany': 'pstoufr2cpca' and 'commandtops'.

Here is a paste of my printers.conf: http://sprunge.us/OHSR

Following lines show up in my error_log, no matter whether the job succeedes (with plain text PDFs and/or PDFs containing JPEGs) or fails:

E [25/Jul/2017:15:08:26 +0200] [Job 41] src = bidiCommon.c, line = 1195, err = 0¥nDEBUG: Connecting to 192.168.178.89:9100
E [25/Jul/2017:15:09:46 +0200] [Job 42] src = bidiCommon.c, line = 1195, err = 0¥nDEBUG: Connecting to 192.168.178.89:9100
E [25/Jul/2017:15:15:16 +0200] [Job 43] src = bidiCommon.c, line = 1195, err = 0¥nDEBUG: Connecting to 192.168.178.89:9100

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Printing the same documents under Ubuntu 16.04 worked just fine.

Many thanks and best regards,
Emilio Reggi
