[cups] Need Canon MF 5770 Cups install...

Team,
I am new to CUPS and Linux, so I need the baby talk version of how to 
install a Canon printer/scanner, MF5770.
I am using USB, Ubuntu v16.x,   I have tried a lot of the things I found 
on the net.  So far I have the printer installed in the O/S, but when I 
do a test print, nothing happens.

Been working on this for a month without success.
Any ideas or help??
